The Phantom was worked on by Infinium Labs (now Phantom Entertainment) in the early-mid 2000s. The console was said to support PC titles, which would give it a huge game library at launch, and even feature a download-based distribution model with the ability to try games out before buying them. This would have essentially been the Steam Machine 11 years before the actual Steam Machine
Unfortunately, the Phantom lived up to its name by missing multiple launch dates and was even speculated to be a lie created by the company’s CEO, who got fined for stock market fraud.
